Values

Council is committed to ensuring its operations, from decision-making to service delivery, show integrity and are at all times equitable, transparent and accountable. Council will be a staunch advocate for the City's interests and will provide opportunities to involve and empower the community in creating a thriving City.

The people of Blacktown have a great deal of pride in and respect for their City. This is apparent through their environmental responsibility and their very active involvement in community life.

Community diversity is strongly valued and harmonious community relations are underpinned by a sense of tolerance and fairness.

Blacktown City is a leader in Western Sydney and will apply the above values to all of its activities.

Leadership

Council has taken the lead role in developing Blacktown City 2025. We will work collectively as a Council to further the interests of Blacktown's diverse community through what we as an organisation can do directly and also as a vigorous advocate to other levels of government and the private sector.

Whilst Council has a clear vision of the potential of its City, it realises that there are other groups and organisations that have responsibility for certain functions. A shared responsibility and partnership between Council and these groups will ensure that the strategies of the Vision are realised.

Our stewardship of Blacktown will also serve to inspire and encourage leadership in the next generation who will inherit our legacy.
